LOOKING AHEAD…. In recognition of Multicultural Communication Month, Thursday, April 10th at 6:30, come join us for a “WORLD DANCE PARTY“ presented by Emily Music For Kids!….Don your sombrero and gather your sticks for this hour long whirlwind tour of Ghana, India, Mexico and Native America! Participants will sashay and swing, twirl, and tap their way through three continents as they learn traditional dances, play traditional instruments, and wear traditional clothing to match!
INTRODUCING – AFTERNOON STORIES – Fairy tales, folktales, tall-tales, and more…. Come join us as Mrs. Freeman reads some favorites to elementary aged kids! Monday, March 24th at 4:00 pm will be our first session and will be held the third Monday of each month beginning in April. Registration suggested but walk-ins are welcome – Ages 5-10!

STORIES WITH PAW PALS (NEXT SESSION sometime in SPRING)*** The Highland Public Library is partnering with a certified therapy dog, LULA, which is sure to be “fur”tastic! This widely received program pairs a child with a certified therapy dog for reading practice for a scheduled 10 minute session. Such partnerships encourage children to read more freely and without criticism, which can result in improved reading fluency and higher self-esteem! For ages 5 & up. LULA’S BOOK CLUB continues to be a BIG HIT! Next session sometime in spring.. All participants will partake in reading aloud followed by a group discussion. In addition to encouraging children to read more freely and without criticism, we hope to enhance reading comprehension and open dialogue, which can help improve reading fluency and promote a higher self-esteem! This program is intended for ages 5-11. Space will be limited. Register on the events calendar.
