1-on-1 Computer Training- Try a 1-on-1 computer training session with our staff and get help on many computer topics. Call 691-2275 ext. 16 for an appointment or more information.

Buffalo Bill Cody Documentary- Th. Feb. 23^rd 7-8pm – Find out what was the myth and what was reality in the life of the legendary William F. Cody.

Swap, Chat & Snack – Th. Mar. 1^st 7-8pm- Celebrate Leap Year with a book swap, chatting about your favorite reads and snacks. Trade in some of your gently used reads for new ones and find a new favorite author. The library provides books as well.

St. Patrick’s Day Craft- Th. Mar. 8^th 7-8pm- Celebrate the luck of the Irish with a craft.

New E-Readers available

Thinking about buying a Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire? Come into the library and compare them or check them out for home use. We also have the new Kindle and Kindle Touch, Nook 1st edition, Nook Color and Nook Touch to be checked out.

The E-readers are preloaded with NYT bestsellers and children’s books. The tablets are also preloaded with magazines. No patron will have the authority to make purchases on the library account.

The e-Readers may be borrowed by Highland Central School District residents 18 years and older who have had a library card for more than 90 days and have a current borrowing record of no fines, no overdues, no lost items.

Overdue fees for e-Readers are $1.00/day. E-reader will be checked out for a 3 week period. A refundable $25.00 deposit is required at check out. There are no renewals.

The reader must be returned to the Highland Public Library during operating hours. It may not be returned in the book drop.

Museum Passes

Did you know you can borrow museum passes at your libary? The library has 2 passes for the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum. Each provides entrance to the Children’s Museum for 2 adults and all children under 18 years old in the household. We also have one pass for the Museum at Bethel Woods. The pass provides admission for 4 and a 10% discount at the Museum Shop and Muse Cafe.
